The Ridges Iron Ore Project is situated in the Far North of Western Australia, 165 kilometres by road south of Wyndham adjacent to the Great Northern Highway. The resource is located along the top of a ridge over an area 200 metres wide x 3km long. The iron ore outcrops at surface and the ore body thickness varies from 3-15m deep.
KMG has completed drilling on 3km of a ridge that spans in excess of 30km across its leases. Within this 3km zone, in excess of 67 million tonnes (Mt) of a combination of magnetite and hematite has been defined in accordance with Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC) guidelines.
The project has a confirmed mine life of four years based on a production rate of 1.5 Mt per annum, with a high probability of increased production through future exploration success and the benefaction of lower grade ore.
KMG commenced shipping iron ore in July 2011 through its own private export facility. The company is currently exporting in excess of 100Kt per month of iron ore fines to the markets in China
