Project Overview

; Ridges Iron Ore Project

The Ridges Iron Ore Project (RIOP) is located in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia.

KMG commenced mining of haematite iron ore (DSO – Direct Shipping Ore) iron ore ) from the Ridges minesite located 165km south of Wyndham.  RIOP exports haematite via Wyndham and a Barge Loading Facility (BLF) located proximal to the Town of Wyndham.  Ore from Ridges is road trained to the BLF  from where it is shipped to an overseas market for processing.  The RIOP also encompasses the Matsu iron ore deposit, which lies 10km to the south east of Ridges, and contains several million tonnes of high grade DSO.  The Matsu Project is well advanced with mining leases and associated tenements having been granted in 2014.

The iron ore resource and RIOP (including Matsu) is located along the top of a sandstone ridge over an area of about 200 metres by 3km long and varies in thickness from 3 to 15m deep.

Expected mine life is four to five years

RIOP is:

WA closest Iron Ore project to China
WA most northern port
The minesite is located 3km from National Highway
Mine to Port is 165km

Blue Hills Project

The Blue Hills Iron Ore Project is located in the Midwest regional of Western Australia in the Shire of Perenjori on the Karara Pastoral Station. The closest towns are Perenjori and Morawa, which are 65 km south-west and 85km west of the Project respectively. The largest regional town, Geraldton, is approximately 220 km north-west of the Blue Hills Project. The Project:

• The landform associated with the Project is the Mungada Ridge in the Blue Hills Range, which is one of a series of Banded Iron Formation ranges in the Yilgarn Craton
• Two open pits (Mungada East/Extension and Mungada West/Extension) and associated facilities
• DSO is trained to the Port of Geraldton for export to the overseas market
• Annual production is estimated at 1.5 million of high-grade haematite.
• Shipping & logistic is via Geraldton Port through private berth.

KMG Mining became involved with the mining of the historical open pits in October 2020. Expected mine life is two to three years.
